Troy's indelible mark on the world of hockey is through his extensive coaching career spanning over 12 seasons in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL). From Kitchener, Hamilton and Saginaw, Smith has been a guiding force behind the success of numerous teams.
In 2008, Smith served as an Assistant Coach for the OHL Champion and Memorial Cup Finalist Kitchener Rangers. The team achieved unparalleled success, setting a club record for wins with an impressive 53 victories.
Humbolt Strong & Raising the Flag
Beyond the borders of the OHL, Smith brought his expertise to the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL) when he joined the Humboldt Broncos in 2020.
Smith's influence extends far beyond the benches of local arenas, as he proudly represented Canada on the international stage at eight different events, including the prestigious Youth Olympic Games in Lausanne, Switzerland. His dedication to developing hockey talent has been instrumental in shaping the careers of over 120 NHL players, a testament to his profound impact on the sport.
